Over the years, the Salute to Excellence has been a celebratory day where ABH recognizes individuals and groups who have made outstanding contributions to community-based behavioral healthcare in Massachusetts. Each October, we welcome close to 400 behavioral health providers, vendors, executives, legislators, and appointed government officials. This year's Salute to Excellence will take place at the Sheraton Framingham Hotel & Conference Center from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. The event program will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m. 

This Year's Keynote Speaker

Hisham Tawfiq
Television & Film Actor, Retired NYC Firefighter, Marine &
Mental Health Advocate

Hisham Tawfiq is an actor and retired FDNY firefighter whose life journey has been a testament to resilience and the power of turning pain into purpose. From losing both parents to violence at a young age, to serving in Desert Storm and responding to 9/11 as a firefighter, Hisham has faced profound challenges that shaped his commitment to mental health and culturally informed care. His experiences exposed him to the critical need for accessible, community-based support, particularly for marginalized communities often left behind.
Currently pursuing a degree in social work, Hisham is dedicated to addressing disparities in care and fostering inclusive, healing spaces, with the mission of advancing equitable mental health care for all.
